Abstract

The article addresses a relevant scientific issue – the substantiation of the role of value orientations as a key factor in the psychological readiness for professional activity among military personnel. Theoretical and methodological analysis is carried out based on contemporary approaches in personality psychology, military psychology, professional studies, and axiology.Scientific views on the essence and structure of value orientations are summarized, considering them as a complex phenomenon that determines motivational, behavioral, and ideological characteristics of military personnel functioning in combat conditions. It has been established that psychological readiness for professional activity is an integral characteristic of the individual, comprising cognitive, motivational-value, emotional-volitional, and operational-behavioral components. It is argued that value orientations serve not only as a component of readiness but also as a formative factor. Particular attention is given to the analysis of the relationship between the personal value system and the development of such qualities as responsibility, stress resistance, professional identity, and intrinsic motivation. The second part of the article presents the results of an empirical study on the influence of value orientations on the psychological readiness of military personnel, conducted on a sample of representatives from various military specialties. Modern psychodiagnostic methods were used. A statistically significant correlation was found between dominant values (duty, patriotism, security, professionalism) and a high level of readiness for service under high-risk conditions. Methodological recommendations are proposed to optimize the formation of psychological readiness in military personnel based on a value-oriented approach, particularly through training programs aimed at developing key personal traits.Systematic work with values promotes the growth of internal motivation, emotional stability, and resilience to occupational stress. The obtained results can be applied in professional selection, psychological training, and moral-psychological support within the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
