Abstract

The article is dedicated to a comprehensive analysis of the medical and psychological rehabilitation of military personnel, particularly in the context of martial law in Ukraine, with an emphasis on the importance of an integrated and comprehensive approach to the health recovery process. In the context of the current war, where military personnel face serious physical and psychological trauma, medical and psychological rehabilitation have become key components in supporting their ability to perform duties and adapt to civilian life. The article highlights the importance of not only treating physical injuries but also providing assistance in overcoming psychological consequences, particularly post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and depressive states arising from participation in combat operations. The article provides definitions of medical and psychological rehabilitation of military personnel as distinct but interrelated processes. In the context of medical rehabilitation, it refers to the restoration of physical functions, including after injuries, chronic diseases, or combat wounds. It includes physiotherapy, surgical intervention, medication therapy, and other recovery methods. Psychological rehabilitation aims to help military personnel cope with the consequences of stress and trauma they experienced during their service. This may include psychotherapy, PTSD correction, stress management techniques, and support for their emotional well-being. The article also addresses the issue of mobilization during martial law, when individuals with various medical, social, and psychological problems are recruited into the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Many of them already have prior experience with mental trauma, depression, or chronic diseases, requiring special preparation for service. This creates additional challenges for the rehabilitation system, as mobilized individuals require early diagnosis and rehabilitation before being involved in combat tasks. The article emphasizes that medical and psychological rehabilitation of military personnel should be integrated and comprehensive to ensure the effective restoration of both health and emotional well-being of each service member. 5384 1302-53.
