PECULIARITIES OF PSYCHOLOGICAL COUNSELING OF SERVICEMEN'S FAMILIES IN WARTIME CONDITIONS

Abstract

The article highlights the psychological aspects of counseling families of military personnel who are actively performing combat missions in wartime. The study is aimed at revealing the content of key concepts such as “psychological assistance”, “psychological support”, “social and psychological characteristics of military personnel’s families”. Particular attention is paid to studying the psychological needs of military personnel’s wives as one of the most vulnerable categories in the context of modern conditions. As part of the empirical study, we carried out diagnostics of the level of personal and social anxiety, as well as the level of stress of military personnel’s wives. Generalization of the obtained results allowed us to find out that military personnel’s wives demonstrate an increased level of anxiety and a high level of stress. This indicates significant psychological stress, which is caused by a number of specific factors, such as a state of uncertainty, social isolation, increased emotional stress, as well as difficulties in adapting to new life circumstances. The results of the study confirmed the need to develop adaptive methods of psychological counseling for this category. Based on theoretical and empirical results, recommendations have been developed for organizing psychological support for military families. The proposed methods are focused on overcoming anxiety, stress management, developing social support mechanisms, and strengthening psychological resilience. These recommendations are aimed at increasing the resources of military spouses to adapt to crisis conditions. Further prospects for the study include testing the developed recommendations in the practice of providing psychological assistance and assessing their effectiveness. The application of the results obtained will contribute to improving the quality of psychological support for military families in wartime conditions.
