Abstract

The article is devoted to revealing the ways of socio-psychological rehabilitation of combatants. Despite the significant number of publications on this issue, this problem can hardly be considered exhausted. As the practice of resocialization shows, it is mostly difficult for military personnel to undergo psychological rehabilitation, in particular to integrate into society after injuries. Such persons are in dire need of help not only from psychologists, but also from mental health doctors. A complex of medical, social and psychological measures is needed to restore their working capacity. Psychological rehabilitation of military personnel involves the provision of high-quality psychological assistance, which includes a set of measures: the formation of the ability to adapt, the formation of an active life position, the correction of attitudes, assistance in developing new goals, strategies and tactics of behavior in new living conditions, and the restoration of personal and social status associated with their social integration. The term «integration into society» emphasizes the importance of adaptation to civilian life and interaction with society, to some extent reflecting the process of job search, professional fulfillment and professional growth of individuals who have completed military service. The article also reveals the content of a foreign program dedicated to the transition of military personnel to civilian life in cooperation with other government and non-governmental organizations working with veterans. The programme was developed by the UK Ministry of Defence in cooperation with other governmental and non-governmental organisations working with veterans. The specified program is implemented by a team of employment specialists, psychologists, social workers and consultants specializing in supporting veterans in the process of their transition to life in society. This allows veterans from different regions of the country to receive the necessary support and resources for employment and adaptation.
