Abstract

This theoretical analysis is devoted to the study of personnel management in the public service, taking into account the importance of sustainable development. The main focus is on strategic approaches to personnel management in the context of achieving the goals of sustainable development, in particular, adapting personnel to modern challenges, developing initiatives, ensuring social responsibility and creating sustainable organizational structures. Improving the personnel management system in the public service is an important condition for successfully solving the problems facing society and strengthening Ukrainian statehood. It is the authorities and management, public service personnel who can directly influence the development of reforms taking place in the country, ensure the implementation of decisions aimed at modernizing the life of Ukrainian society. At the same time, as practice shows, the problem of forming a high-quality, highly professional body of civil servants is one of the most difficult problems of any state system. Ambiguous issues such as the improvement of the system of personnel selection for public service, the development of scientific criteria for their evaluation, a scientific approach to the analysis of the needs of management personnel, the formation of effective technologies for the placement and promotion of personnel, increasing the validity of personnel decisions and expanding their publicity, etc., are raised here. The research is based on the analysis of scientific literature and public documents, as well as on examples of best practices in personnel management in the public service. The results of the analysis can be useful for managers, researchers and practitioners who deal with the optimization of personnel management in view of the priorities of sustainable development.
