In modern conditions of family transformation, the psychological understanding of young people role expectations in the structure of family values is relevant and requires empirical study. It is in adolescence that family values, expectations and special functional-role behavior strategies are realized. It is in difficult and tragic conditions of survival that family values help young people to realize the importance of emotional support and sharing experience of overcoming trials, therefore the problem of studying the expectations of attitudes towards family values and the coincidence of ideas about gender-role behavior in the family and its image among young people is actualized attention and needs a solution. The article examines the results of a psychodiagnostic study of family values indicators, which can connect readiness factors for marriage with role expectations, and analyzes their influence on family values through such components as harassment, understanding, emotional attraction, and authority. An analysis of the experimental and empirical study results of the family values components in student youth is provided. Comparative analysis, generalization, induction, tests, and questionnaires were used. It was found that readiness for marriage is a specific indicator of role expectations in the structure of students' family values. It is emphasized that young men with a high level of readiness for marriage are more inclined to understand and respect their partner, identify with him, are oriented towards managing the economy and expect their partner to be active in raising children, emotional contact and attraction and emotional attractiveness in communication. On the other hand, young men with a low level of readiness for married life are characterized by reduced indicators of identification with their partner, they distance themselves from him emotionally, they do not need solidarity in understanding, expecting activity in managing the household and undifferentiated family values. The change in Ukrainian society is reflected in the family and role expectations of young people, but it should be noted that family values and their structure remain unchanged.
