Abstract

In the article the problem of the relationship between the trust and emotional intelligence has been analyzed through the examples young people. The trust and the emotional intelligence were treated as a basis the personal well-being. The trust comes from a special reaction to an uncertainty, when a person doesn’t have a knowledge about consequences of actions and deed of other people. That’s why we have created a hypothesis, that the increasing a level of emotional intelligence will determine a person’s trust. People will become to better predict a behavior of others and an uncertainty is going to decrease. For empirical verification of this hypothesis, we have realized the investigation with young people. At the first stage of the studies, we have diagnosed with a level of emotional intelligence. At the second stage we have teste different aspects of trust. There was a correlation between a general level of trust and such components of emotional intelligence: self-motivation, awareness and a managing of others’ emotions. The diagnostic of trust orientation demonstrates that trust to others has a positive correlation with empathy and high level of awareness correlates with trust to the world because it decreases feeling of uncertainty. Trust to self and to the world correlates with ability to manage of others’ emotions. The text analysis on a topic “Why I trust or don’t trust to people” has specified some subjective motives, which encourage a person to treat to others with some distrust. In main diagnostic group the participants have a more level of trust in themselves, then trust in yourself. The groups with different level of emotional intelligence have significant differences. Persons with a low level of emotional intelligence are more likely to trust relatives and acquaintances and mass media too. It promotes to great influence of social manipulations. Persons with a high level of emotional intelligence are more likely to trust own experience. They listen to their intuition, and they often approach this issue scientifically. If a level of emotional intelligence increases the conscious assessment of other people increases too.
